【海绵铁简介】
海绵铁又称直接还原铁(即DRI)，是以优质赤铁矿石为原料，海绵铁采用优质矿石，利用氧化还原反应原理，通过滤式除淀方式进行排除，对管道、锅炉和循环水溶解氧腐蚀经水处理后水溶解氧含量可将到0.05mg/L以下。
在回转窑、竖炉或其他反应器内，用煤、焦炭，天然气或氢气，使铁矿石或铁精矿球团在低于物料熔化温度的条件下进行低温还原，变成多孔状的产物。其中被还原出来的铁呈细小铁核，形如海锦，故称海绵铁，经冷却、破碎、磁选，可除去脉石或其他杂质(金属铁占全铁90％以上者，可直接用于炼钢；90％以下的，用于高炉或电炉炼铁)。
【海绵铁特点】
1、使用寿命长、无毒、不污染环境，出水含氧量稳定在0.05mg/L以下，完全符合国家低压锅炉水质标准（GB1576-2001）要求。
2、常温运行，无需加热，运行成本低，克服了热力除氧，真空除氧须加热耗能的缺点。
用量少，一般情况下除氧剂消耗量1吨水为10g。
3、反洗频率低，再生效果好。
海绵铁滤料具有较好的还原活性和高比表面积特点，作为水除氧剂的海绵粒度为2-5mm，孔隙率极高，比表面积大，活性高，极易与水中的氧发生反应生成Fe3O3,从而达到除氧目的，反应产物为不易溶于水的絮状沉淀，被拦截下来，用一定强度的反洗水可以冲洗干净。
【海绵铁制成方法】
1、铁磷还原法：轧钢氧化铁磷是钢材在加热炉中加热后在轧制过程中，其表面氧化层自行脱落而产生的。还原海绵铁除氧剂可采用热轧沸腾钢氧化铁磷作原料，因为沸腾钢氧化铁磷中的TFe、C、S、P化学成分含量，能满足还原海绵铁生产的技术要求，在还原海绵铁中最好不要以高碳钢或合金钢氧化铁磷为原料。
2、铁精矿粉还原法：磁铁矿的主要成分是Fe3O4经采用湿式球磨、湿式磁选、联合选矿工艺后产出的普通精矿粉，是生产还原海绵铁的优选原料。
3、直接还原铁：通过精铁粉或氧化铁在炉内经低温还原形式的低碳多孔状物质，其化学成分稳定，杂质含量少，主要用作电炉炼钢的原料，也可作为转炉炼钢的冷却剂，如果经二次还原还可供粉末冶金用。
